SYSTEM MOUNT (armor)

Armor is not simply a static thing, but often serves as the foundation upon
which a player can build and customize. By adding a "system mount" to a
piece of custom armor or even to upgradeable helmets and armor, a player
can then add special armor systems to the item that have additional
functions. The system mount is a custom part that can be installed at the
armor workbench using the command "upgrade mount".
Note: The level of the system mount indicates the total number of
systems allowed on the armor. Non-custom items have a a maximum capacity
of two systems, but Bounty Hunters can install a level three mount which
will personalize the item.

Usage: Activate
The ability to customize armors and affix new systems to existing
pieces of equipment has allowed players to install personal
energy shields to help protect against specific types of attacks.
After you have installed a systems mount to your armor, you must
then find a generator and energy cells. The types of generators
are:

Once you have installed the generator on your armor, you must
"activate" it before it will provide its defenses. The protection
will last a few ticks before fading and requiring you to
reactivate your shields.
